you are all going to end up with a Gleek one way or another. So shut up and either stop collecting or work some extra hours to get what you want!

  • Oscar says:

Cool figures! A must for me to posess for my collection! I just hope to get my hands on Gleek! Since there are action figures of these characters created by Hanna-Barbera instead of DC Comics, who’d make great additions in this line-up are Apache Chief(Build-A-Figure), Samurai, Black Vulcan, El Dorado, Rima the Jungle Girl, Wendy, Marvin and WonderDog. Hope it happens!

  • Lightsource says:

I honestly think that had Mattel known the reaction this freakin’ monkey was going to get 6 months ago they would have ordered a few hundred more for production to sell on Matty. As it is though, there would be no way they can get the set to SDCC in time if they did that now. Personally, I think the eagle and pale of water make much more sense as an extra. Mark my words this blue monkey will be the rarest DCUC of all as they won’t even be able to meet demand at the show – production will be very low. A lot of people (quite a few scalpers-check your local Ebay listings!) who are going to make the effort to get one at SDCC will walk away empty-handed and VERY pissed!
I think Mattel should remember that for 2008 the extra “con-goer” incentive were the extra 3-D glasses with Lobo. They had enough extras after the show that the first few Lobos sold on Matty included the extra pair of glasses, mine included. So to make the frivolous extra be a character (lame though he is) was a huge oversight the collectors are not soon to forget.

  • joe stilwell says:

well said phantom i could not agree more. One or two exclusive a year is fine but its always something with this line every wave has variants and exclusives and here only there only. Its just to much

  • edward e. nigma says:

so, let me make sure i understand this:
i can’t order gleek from mattycollector (which is already exclusive enough), but i can fly all the way from canada to san diego to get him?
so, my exclusive gleek will ONLY cost me $500 air fair, not to mention hotel, food, AND the overpriced ticket to the show, just to take photos of prototype figures that still won’t look the same as when they come out a year down the road? thanks, but no thanks.
i can’t even find most of your stuff anyways.
this might be enough incentive to grow up and sell off all my figs. peter pan is officially leaving neverland.

  • ste says:

Does anyone know the size of these figures? I mean, they reuse the molds to bring us so many characters; so are the twins Superman and WonderWoman sized, or Nightwing and Supergirl sized? Has any of the info online indicated one way or the other?

  • ben b says:

I hear the way they are giving gleek away is in a separate bag and not in the actual package. This somewhat makes me feel better, because he would be to hard to display in this way. Plus maybe someone will get it confused with a happy meal toy, and I can find it at some thrift store in the 50 cent bin…. a man can dream. Another thing is that maybe its good in some way, that there is more stuff out there that is a collectors dream. keeps the blood going. I also collect pez dispensers; i dont know when, or why it started, but if I had them all I would have nothing to look for. Maybe instead of hating on matty, we should hate on ebay and the people who collect just for the money aspect. If later down the road, my collection is worthless, it will still be priceless to me. THANK YOU MATTY FOR MAKING SOME KICK ARSE FIGURES!

    • TheFlashIII says:

I agree, Mattel has really made some awesome figures–I think that’s why we’re all here. I don’t care about Gleek being in a bag; it’s much cooler to display the figures out of the packaging, where you can pose them the way you want. If they would just communicate with fans of the line about upcoming possibilities with the line, they could have saved themselves from this kind of backlash. For pete’s sake, Mattel, is it so hard to post a survey here or your Facebook page? Hopefully their next Wal-Mart wave has better distribution, as Wave 5 has been the other infuriating thing about collecting DCUC.

  • Jaime Rheyes says:

I do admit, I would like the Eagle and Bucket of water, but, Not near as much as Gleek. Gleek is way more important then an Eagle, much less a stupid bucket of water! I mean really, what where these morons smoking when they came up with the idea of No Gleek!?!?

  • Beezy says:

I love when people say things like “I’m gonna stop collecting” because of things like this. Grow up. What’s the opposite of nerd rage, nerd passive agression? I hope people do stop collecting because of this, because I’m having a heck of a time finding the figures I need in my area. If this is going to get people to stop collecting the line, then those people probably were going to stop sometime anyways. This will not be the death knell of the line, people will still buy these. I’ll be at SDCC and will buy the max every day since the full passes were sold out. Be sure to buy yours from my ebay store.

    • darth says:

I dont understand that too.. if we all want gleek, and we did end up purchasing it, we are going to obviously buy on ebay, so isnt matty losing money? glad to hear youre going. Maybe thats why your not so upset. hope your a kind seller…

    • TheFlashIII says:

I’m sure that as long as you get the set that has Gleek, people will buy them on ebay. It’s the set that Mattel wants to sell on their website without the monkey that people are going to refuse to buy. I’m glad you’ve decided to be part of the problem and screw people over with outrageous ebay prices. But, it sounds like fellow ebay rapists are buying the figures up in your area so you cant–so I guess it serves you right.

  • Naughty Boy says:

Holiday Hal, now, SDCC exclusive Gleek, Whats next to piss collectors off?

  • ben says:

I agree! NO MONKEY, NO BUSINESS!
Mattel why are you doing this?! I have been an advid collector now for this entire series. I can understand a high priced sdcc exclusive available online. But to change it all together is wrong. Nobody will want to order from matty. Everyone will get “raped” on ebay instead. This is a bad business move! I am afraid if this actually happens that i am going to stop collecting this line. But maybe you dont care, you have already made your money off of me. It seems thats the way you are going. So much for the fan…

  • Affonso Carrasco says:

I forgot to add Watchmen to my list.

    • TheFlashIII says:

I imagine if they were going to do Watchmen in this line, they would’ve done it in time with the movie release. They’ve released several Watchmen figures through DC Direct, etc.

  • Affonso Carrasco says:

Nice set, but before adding second role characters or kid´s heros, please I wish to be made to my collection: Plastic Man, Martian Hunter, Green Lantern Jonh Stewart, Sgt. Rock, Jonah Hex, Shining Knight and Joker. Those action figures are amazing, with repeated ones I have, started to customizing with Marvel Legends. Keep that line linger.

  • RedAl says:

Check the date. April 1st? These are such lame figures to produce. Just think about it.

  • CBarton says:

Without the dang monkey, why would anyone want the twins. Already sick of having to hunt down this line like I’m chasing the last Dodo. Still have no left arm for Metallo. Which makes me wonder why I spent the money for his other pieces. And now that Wave 6 figures are shipping with Wave 7 figures and with the reissue figures (which aren’t moving off the the pegs) I’m pretty sure its time to start keeping my money. I haven’t collected a toy line in over 15 years because I hate competing with comic shop owners and ebayers who are buying for resale. And now Mattel is enabling those jerks. Go jump Matty.

  • What the hell are they thinking???

This line could be the best ever! But they all seem to figure it wrong!!!

Exclusive??? The common line is hard to find! Exclusives are just the same old story!

And waht about those damm punch hands on every figure?!?! Man they suck!

  • Donald says:

I have to say I’m very disappointed in this decision by Mattel.

While I do understand giving the convention attendees something special since they did spend all the extra money and time to come to the show, it seems highly illogical that Mattel…after all the negative feelings the various problems with the DCU line has created with collectors, dealers and the general public…would decide to further the division between them and their purchaser base by leaving out a crucial part of the Wonder Twins set.

I can also understand cutting the cost of the direct sales set since they (probably) won’t sell as many as in person at the show. BUT just sitting here I can name several alternatives that should save a fair amount of money and allow those of us not able to attend the same chance to get a long desired set of exclusives from the DCU line up.

    Examples:

    1) Leave off the eagle and bucket pieces. Both are great add on’s, but not as necessary as Gleek.
    2) The sets here are sold loose in a poly bag with all the parts I.E. less packaging material needed.
    3) have the Eagle and bucket as a separate piece set for like $5.00 extra. Those who want it will add it; those who don’t won’t but you still can give everyone a choice w/o driving up the costs of the main set and will make a lot back on the second set.
4)Sell us a normal set like at SDCC but include say a extra stand and a vote slip so those bought through he website can vote on the next exclusive–anything to make our set unique and equal so no one feels like (why didn’t I do X instead)

Please Mattel-this is a great line, and it deserves every chance. BUT, if you keep making decisions that push away your collectors base you will only hurt yourself long term.

And I know that while we are not your primary target audience overall, our demographic is trended heavy enough that our loss of faith in the line and subsequent less purchases of DCU figures is a negative factor you as a corporation don’t need and one we don’t want to resort to just to get the figures we want at a fair price.

  • Bodyman says:

I agree, I WANT THIS SET!!!!!!!! I will likely fork over the dough on e-bay to have the set with Gleek. But I would rather get it from Mattycollector. WAKE UP AN GIVE ME MY MONKEY MATELL!!!!!!!!!

    No monkey, No money!!!

  • Joseph Goodenbuy says:

I have to agree with every one. Mattel…HERE US…NO GLEEK , no money. Remove the OTHER two acessories, the bucket and eagle. Make those a SDCC Exclusive but give the people a chance to own the beloved Gleek !!

  • Jaime Rheyes says:

No Monkey. No sale. No money.

  • Shanks says:

    Say it Loud!

    Say it Proud!

    • Caesar says:

      Yeah!!!

      No monkey, no money !!

  • Titansfan says:

    No Monkey, No Money.

  • Seriously. I have collected many toys in my day, and nothing makes me want to drop a collection quicker than EXCLUSIVES. I hate ’em.

These figures are great, and should be available for all. I know I can eventually order them from MattyCollector.com, but without Gleek?!?!? He was part of this goofy trio. Maybe not include the other accesories, but keep the monkey.

Exclusives need to be limited, and then re-offered online, if possible, maybe slightly altered with a minor paint job change or something, to make the exclusive more exclusive, and give everyone else a chance.

  • Shanks says:

I can’t believe Mattel would include Gleek as an exclusive to SDCC

    This is such bull S**T!

You do the Wal Mart Waves and those were impossible to get ahold of.

The distribution has been horrible and now I am going to get scalped on EBAY because Mattel has to go and make Gleek an SDCC exclusive.

Mattel, If you read this, We want to buy that figure. Your customers want to spend the money for it. Make it available.

  • guy says:

it only took them 30 years to become an action figure and they are going to be exclusives to that overpriced overhyped nerdfest. that sucks. they should be released everywhere! let the rest of us nerds buy it!:)

  • TheFlashIII says:

This one is all about nostalgia. It’s nice they have the eagle and bucket of water, since that’s honestly the only thing I can remember them ever changing into. The expression on their faces is pretty creepy, though! It’s too bad the Mattycollector version won’t have Gleek–why bother then, really? Mattel, Mattel, Mattel, why must you punish your fans so?

  • Templar says:

I don’t know, this feels like an April Fools joke!!!
Nicely colored figures, though. Sorry – I never really cared for these characters who were constantly needing rescue from the rest of the Superfriends……Still, good luck & enjoy, IF y’all can get them!

  • ted kord....THE BLUE BETTLE says:

HOLY ****,THE WONDER TWINS,I USED TO WATCH THEIR SHOW WHEN I WAS SMALLER AND IT MAY NOT BE A BIG DEAL TO YOU GUYS BUT THAT USED TO BE MY FAVORITE SHOW,AND THATS WHY IT IS A BIG DEAL TO ME.

P.S.FORM OF,A BUCKET OF WATER!FORM OF,AN EAGLE!WONDER TWINS ROCK BUT HOW THE HELL ARE THEY DC

  • douglashawk says:

These are awesome but I have NEVER been to a comic con in my life. I cannot afford it or live close enough to go to one. Even the small ones are too far away. I cannot afford to pay for Gleek on e-bay….me sad…

  • Caesar says:

Dear Matty, this is cool stuff…

But i don’t think i can get it, especially Gleek…

You know why?? Because i didn’t live in U.S….
    Are you punishing us?? :[

  • alkatrazzz says:

Very disappointed if GLEEK is not going to be included in the matty release. this may even stop many people from purchasing the set.. Please Please Please say this is an april fools joke.

  • Jaime Rheyes says:

Oh my gosh! These are fricking awesome! I want this!

  • Jon says:

    Oh – good.
More exclusives I didn’t ask for or want.
    Money in the bank.

    F*** off, Mattel…

    • Phantomlurker says:

Who ever would have thought that stupid monkey (who I hated even at age7) would cause so much drama?
I think the real leason here is that exclusives of any form just feel like a giant middle finger to the fans that buy and support a line.
