DCUC Adam Strange and Starfire action figures now available

I ordered these last week and received them rather quickly. I was mainly amazed they weren’t defective in anyway aside from Starfire’s right arm was a little bent, but I was able to fix that. Adam Strange is eight kinds of awesome though.
I received mine in good time and they’re in pretty good shape – but what’s with the gloss flesh-tone paint?
It really detracts from the figure and doesn’t look any where near as good as the painted prototype pics.
A better example of what I mean will be the Flash, I imagine, who looks dynamite in the pre-pics with the matte paint look – he’ll look less cool all glossy. *sigh*

I am not very enthusiastic about ordering online, and never have been. I have been excited to find DCUC figures on the shelves at my local Target – only to have to walk away when the paint applications render the figure unpurchasable. Can we demand perfection? No, you never can. But if I see a figure shown on the back of the box with properly applied paint apps, and then see the figure inside of the box with improper paint apps it is upsetting. Factor into this now being made to purchase a figure that you cannot even have the chance to inspect prior to buying. You have to play long odds with a website like mattycollector if you want to collect a Starfire or an Adam Strange. I have no doubt that the customer service will be excellent – that the transaction and the delivery will be nice and smooth. What I am worried about is a product that I cannot inspect before buying, and would have a very hard time trying to have returned/replaced. Sadly, from what I’ve seen in the stores, DCUC are superior figures with a 33% chance of badly applied paint. I would have to buy two 2-packs to defeat those odds, but then I may still end up with lemons. I’d be buying 4 figures, when I only want 1 good Starfire figure. This sadly leaves me with two options: Either I spend almost $60 with cost of shipping included and hope I get a good Starfire for my Teen Titans display, or I skip the online purchase and resort to trying to customize another figure into my version of the character. Which to choose?

Already put my order in. Nice little shop they have there. Can’t wait to see what else they have in the pipe to make it worth it.
