More DCUC Wave 9 photos and updates
We just received the official photos of DCUC Wave 9 directly from Mattel. Along with the photos are some updates.
Please note that the Guardian figure will indeed be the Classic Guardian and not the modern Guardian as shown at NYCC and in Toy Fare. (this was due to the fact that we did not have tooling available to do both and vintage version was farther along in the process).
Also note that we will have a second variant of Wildcat but have not confirmed what that is yet.
Finally, we are working very hard on getting the MattyCollector Facebook page back up and running. There were a few one-time-only problems but we are working these out with Facebook right now and hope to either restore the original page or get a new permanent page up by the end of the week. We did want to announce that the DCUC Ultraman and Alex Luthor 2 pack will go on sale April 15th and the JLU LOSH pack will go on sale May 15th.
Faker will be on sale this Monday March 16th and will be limited to 4 per person due to his availability at NYCC.

DAMN STRAIGHT! I seriously want wave 5. If its not possible to re-distribute, at least put them on line for RETAIL PRICES!
Yeah, I never got to complete wave 5 either. Now I see that some of the older series are being re-released…with stands instead of BAF parts. Gee, thanks a lot Mattel! My advice to the powers that be is to steer clear of “exclusives”…I would have been interested in buying some of the online exclusive 2-packs, but how can I trust the quality control on them when the stuff I get off of the shelves have messy paint jobs, seized up joints, misplaced limbs, or two left arms or some kind of crap like that? Ok, so maybe the last two series seem to have overcome some QC issues, but I’m still pretty pi$$ed about not having a complete and up to date collection due to Mattel’s mis-distribution. Is there any chance that the beleaguered series 5 will be re-issued? And if so, will they have the BAF parts as well? If Mattel would manage the line a little bit better, DCUC could be possibly the best superhero action figure line ever in spite of all of the problems over the past year or so.
I had a question: Are there any future waves of figures that are going to be Wal-Mart exclusives? If so, I hope you are aware that a lot of people couldn’t find wave 5 in stores ever and had to buy them at a scalper’s rate on ebay. Is Mattel going to address the distribution issues, limiting the number people can buy, or at least have Walmart.com sell them? Thanks!
