Would pick it up if it weren’t for the head sculpt, the face just looks bad. Now if Mattel would release the oldschool version of him with the fro and disco suit I would TOTALLY buy it.

Yeah, they should have made an 80’s variant. It’s clear from the cheap-looking goggles on Black Lighting and Eradicator and the total lack of accessories (except Riddler’s cane-whoopie!) that Wal-Mart wanted the cheapest figures possible and, as we all know, did an ABSOLUTELY AWFUL job of putting these figures out. I hope Mattel learned their lesson. Incidentally, I bought a loose Superman Blue on ebay and painted the energy things from his wrists yellow and snapped them on Black Lighting–they look pretty schnazzy!

I got a loose Black Lightning for $24, but again – its left hip was FUSED & couldn’t rotate the left leg forward or backward properly!
And the left arm was defectively loose & was pulled off the first time I tried to move it! The arm was easy enough to repair with a simple needle as a connecting rod between the bicep & deltoid/rotator cuff.
It’s the fused hips that are really annoying, & I don’t know how to repair it short of opening the whole damn hip! BL’s whole new costume design is a great modern update – but these defects really bummed me out – plus the final goggles on these figures aren’t yellow transparent plastic anymore – just solid little yellow bug eyes. Agh, can’t always get what ye want, eh ??

Got my BL figure for frigging $30 online!! Wouldn’t even wanna open it now – I SO wish this wasn’t an “exclusive” ! Even so, the figure I got had a bit of smearing on his yellow lightning belt, and
the “M” shape is not as defined. Either way, it’s a great design and color complement to Nightwing – it’d be great to see them on a face-off (both were trained by Batman, BTW)…..This figure’s for keeps!!

This figure looks awesome as well and will make a nice add on to anybody who picked up the Harvey Birdman figure!!
