Got this figure, and they deliver his paint job as advertised…..love the hair rendered like its floating underwater. My only gripe: there are NO FINS on his calves…….
I think the color scheme is nifty, but they definitely should’ve released this as a variant for wave 2. The long-haired Aquaman variant is one I refuse to buy. I agree that the bearded hook-hand Aquaman would’ve been cool. I think there are lots of cool characters to be made rather than redoing the same one (Blue Devil anyone?) and it seems like taking the naked body with a repaint is a way to make money…but I guess if it keeps Mattel making these, I’m all for it.
If you’re King of the Atlantis and all of the world’s oceans, it would definitely make more sense to have this kind of blue wave camo costume – much more sense than a scaly orange top & green tights .(NO, I’m NOT pouncing on the classic purists out there, folks! Just expressing personal preferences is all….) The paint job will be a challenge to pull off – it’d be interesting to see what we’ll get on the shelves…..Wonder if it’ll hold well underwater ??? Agreed that he’s just a bare & naked repaint – an optional left hook would have also been a nice accessory to offset his bareness……..
I loved this costume, but I have to agree that it’s a little weird to make another Aquaman so soon. And if you’re going to make another Aquaman, why not make a Mera or Tempest or Aqualad or Ocean Master to go with him? There had NEVER been a Mera action figure…ever. Mera has had 3 different dolls made of her (one by Ideal in the Super Posin’ Queens series, and 2 by Tonner). I’d love to see an actual action figure of her, complete with fins and hard water constructs.
this would have been the coolest figure in the whole line, IF his costume had been red and black, his hair black, his eyes purple and his name had been Tempest. but I want Atom Smasher SO much that I’m going to get him.
I think I have to get this one if I want Atom Smasher – and I do! My classic Aquaman looks like he got burnt in a fire so I may try to switch heads and then to a custom with this one. Maybe make a Blue Lantern. LOL
I can’t get behind this one. It’s just your standard “naked body” figure, like GL, with a new paint job. Granted, the paint job is nicely done, but it just seems like a waste. Almost a filler figure in a line that already includes a lot of great figures.
It may seem early to do another Aquaman, but how many Batman and Superman variations have there been? I rejoice in the fact that they are willing to do such obscure versions of the characters: just think what they may give us in the future. This may have been Aquaman’s worst costume, whatever, but the figure looks awesome. I can’t wait to see what these guys will do next, and I’ll buy what they sell.
Aww, you guys need to stop yur b*##’n. The fact that this character is being made at all along with Adrian Chase Vigilante, its like the Horsemen are reading my mind! While it is obscure it dials right in to my era of DC Comics! Bravo! Now we need, dare I say, 90’s Cap’n Hook Aquaman, Ocean Master and Aqualad and who woulda thunk?… a complete Aquaman display!
I got mine yesterday. This action figure is AWESOME!!! Can’t wait to get the others to complete the WAVE 7 Series and build ATOM SMASHER.

It would be cool to see the Aquaman but bearded and his hook! The repainted variation isn´t bad but personally, It doesn´t like me…

Seriously, they’ve already made aquaman! Release variants in the same wave, not new waves – we need more characters not variants 🙁
gonna get this figure, but i still think its his worst costume.
Make new characters not costume re-paints!
My King!!! Going to hunt this one down…
